With funding from  the International Land Coalition (ILC), the MAP Liberia Land Platform organized a day-long capacity-building training for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) on the basic components of project proposal development and resource mobilization.
The gathering brought together representatives from members’ organizations on the MAP Liberia Land Platform. The exercise was intended to enhance the capacity of members on the concept, composition, and skills of proposal writing. The training was designed to empower members’ organizations with the vital competencies required to effectively develop proposals and successfully secure funding opportunities.
Throughout the training, Mr. James Yarsiah, Executive Director of Rights and Rice Foundation and the National Facilitator of the MAP Platform, delved into a range of essential topics, including the fundamentals of proposal development, understanding the key components of a compelling proposal such as objectives, methodologies, budgets, and evaluation techniques, as well as resource mobilization strategies, exploring innovative approaches to attract funding—such as identifying potential donors, cultivating donor relationships, leveraging existing resources, and networking opportunities.
